Yaw Na Than art gallery is a must if you’re staying in Nyaung U in Bagan.
The owner specialises in a unique form of art: ‘painting inside a bottle’ which takes him 5-7 days to complete and involves him scratching the inside of a bottle with bent paintbrushes.
We bought a small glass bottle featuring Aung San Suu Kyi which cost 10,000kyat. The larger ones, some featuring Van Gogh, cost 30,000kyat.
He also sells paintings, varses and wine bottles – the perfect souvenir to take home!
