Swim with pink dolphins in the Amazon

[ 2 ] July 15, 2011 | Alison Adey

Fancy swimming with pink dolphins, hunting for anacondas and playing with squirrel monkeys? Book the Pampas Tour in Bolivia and enjoy an action-packed adventure in the Amazon.

Local guides will take you on a fascinating journey through Santa Rosa National Park where you’ll experience wildlife at its most natural.

What to expect

You’ll leave Rurrenabaque and travel through the Amazon on a motorised canoe. Watch out for howler monkeys swinging through the trees,  hawks swooping overhead and snakes slithering into the water.

You’ll also get the chance to swim with pink dolphins, hunt for anacondas and fish for piranahs. During the evenings relax in hammocks, play on the rope swing or watch the sunset with a cold beer (pictured below).

Booking your tour

A 3-day adventure booked through Honey Tours costs from 700bs (£60) and includes 2 nights’ accommodation in a jungle lodge and food. This doesn’t include park entrance (150bs) and transport to Rurrenabaque (80bs bus one way from La Paz). You may also need to stay in Rurrenabaque on the final night. We stayed at Residential Jabon and it was only 20bs.

Looking for things to do in South America? Don’t miss the stunning Colca Canyon and if you love a good hike make sure you sign up for the Lost City trek in Colombia.

Precisly what I’m looking for. Going to do this with two of me mates and one of them is a snake nut, it’s all he talks about going to South America to catch an anaconda.
Thanks for putting this up, but could you please give me details of the tour operator?
    Cheers
