From San Jose: Go to Caribe station and catch the 6am bus to the border town of Sixaola. This takes around 6 hours and costs from $10.
It takes around one hour to cross the border (NB. You’ll need to have proof of onward travel or they’ll make you buy a bus ticket). Once you’re safely across, get a bus to Almirante and then a 30-minute boat to Isla Conlon ($4).
From Panama City: You can get a direct bus to Almirante for around $23. It takes 12 hours and you can get an overnight bus.
